Intensive-In-Home Services (IIC)
Intensive counseling services are flexible, comprehensive support that is clinical, client-centered and family-focused for those struggling with emotional/behavioral disruptions that result in significant functional impairment and maladaptive behaviors that place families and communities at risk. Services are placed into action within an in-home/community environment focused on developing realistic treatment plans appropriate to the individual. This approach is to provide solution-based crisis interventions that target needs to strengthen families and diminish the intensity of undesirable behavior.  We integrate community resources pertinent to psychosocial maintenance and support to sustain effective development when families transition.

Behavioral Assistance Services (BA)
Behavioral assistants are trained to improve family functioning by applying structured, organized interventive approaches, with pragmatic behavioral modification techniques that reinforce coordinated care. BAs target specific behavior through collaboration with counselors and work as a team player to realize adaptive, culturally-based outcomes.

Certified Divorce Mediators
Winner’s divorce mediators collaborate with the caregivers to help negotiate an agreement that is acceptable for both parties. Our divorce mediator assists with agreements regarding various issues including child custody. Working with a mediator allows the divorce to move more quickly through the court system and better assists the family in the interest of the youth.

Couples Co-Parenting Planning
Our Co-Parenting Skills Training aims to shift the focus of the caregiver’s relationship to the children and their adjustment to separation or divorce. The caregivers are encouraged to develop goals for their co-parenting relationship, create rules of conduct, develop a system of communication, and improve positive decision-making skills, and negotiating and problem-solving methods. Programs are "strength-based," including activities that purposefully help the child and family to recognize and utilize assets in positive capacities. Each week caregivers and children are provided with directives that entail role plays, videos, worksheets, parent handbooks, and assessment inventories. In addition, caregivers and children learn how to play games, sing songs, complete exercises, and learn to work together as a family. Counselors are also available to work exclusively with caregivers outside of IIC assignments.

Reentry Program
Youths that have been confined to juvenile detention can face great challenges upon release. These challenges can affect their social and emotional well-being which can distress transitioning back to the community, home, and school setting. The youth can also face the potential threat of further legal issues, based on his/her choices and actions upon release. Successful Reentry Programs aim to address: mental and behavioral health, anger management, psychoeducation, vocational training, education, problem-solving, job core and college preparedness, relationships, and support.

Our Reentry Program emphasizes integrating the youth into the community and building the family’s social support network. We aim to increase the "natural support" available to the youth and their families by strengthening interpersonal relationships and utilizing other resources that are available. Programs are "strength-based," including activities that help the youth recognize and utilize assets in positive capacities. Classes highlight the youth’s mental and behavioral health, anger management, psychoeducation, vocational training, education, problem-solving, job core, and college preparedness relationships and support.

Academic Tutoring
Winner’s academic tutors strive to support youths who are struggling with educational studies, covering a variety of subject matter. Our tutors are trained to serve youths with traditional academic struggles as well as youths with special needs and disabilities. Winner tutors aim to advance the youth in their academics and lead them to a prosperous future.

College Preparedness/Young Entrepreneur and Financial Empowerment Programs
These programs offer a full menu of activity-based instruction designed to promote leadership skills and personal growth through team-building retreats, interactive workshops, interaction with community leaders and business professionals as well as service-learning activities. Students broaden their scope, build relationships with students from different communities, and gain lifelong knowledge and professional connections.

Nurse Practitioner on Staff
Winner has a trained nurse practitioner on staff to assist with youth’s and families’ health-related needs. A nurse practitioner is a licensed independent physician who is responsible for managing and assisting with health issues that may arise. Our nurse practitioner can serve the family in their environment, including in-home care and treatment, providing all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations.

Multilingual Staff and Trained Translators
Winner’s staff are fluent in a variety of languages. This allows us to assist a broad community and accommodate families with language and cultural barriers.

Winner Translators can accompany CMOs to open cases for Performcare, biopsychosocial assessments, and intakes. Counselors are available to teach families that are not ASL capable.  ASL lessons can be taught to families/caregivers that have a Deaf/Hard of Hearing youth or adult family member within the home with none and/or minimal knowledge of the language.  Counselors are available to work with families outside of IIC assignments. 

Counselors Trained in ASL and ASL Interpreters
Although psychotherapists for the deaf are trained to use sign language, situations may arise in which a sign language interpreter is needed. If this collaboration is optimal, it can generate a certain “therapeutic power” in therapy sessions. Achieving this depends largely on the interplay between the therapist and the interpreter, which in our case is the result of literature research and our experiences during the last 17 years. We analyze this special collaborative relationship, which has several dimensions and recurrent themes like the role conception of the interpreter, situational interpreting, organizing the interpretation setting, or managing therapeutic phenomena during therapy sessions.

Winner staff can be trained in basic ASL. The staff has knowledge of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing culture as well as an understanding of the population and their specific needs.

Winner interpreters are encouraged to adhere to high standards of ethical practice, which includes ensuring that they have appropriate training in mental health interpreting prior to accepting work in such settings.  Interpreters are prepared for a variety of group dynamics including but not limited to hearing clinicians working directly with deaf consumers; hearing clinicians working with deaf consumers and their hearing family members or partners; and deaf mental health professionals with various interpreting needs.

Cleaning Services
Winner offers cleaning services to aid families at risk of losing custody of their children due to environmental health factors regarding the cleanliness of the home. Our staff will oversee the cleaning and organization of the home to accommodate the family, abiding by the requirements of the Department of Child Permanency and Protection (DCPP) for the children to remain in the custody of the family.

Health and Nutrition Specialist
Winner has staff trained in the areas of health and nutrition to offer insight towards a healthier lifestyle for families being served by our agency. Our staff can provide in-home health and nutrition services regarding physical health and well-being, such as diet and exercise. Our staff can also assist in the treatment of eating disorders and obesity from a health and nutritional standpoint, providing the family with knowledge and regimens to successfully thrive.

Immigration Trauma and Resource Assistance
Immigration issues of caregivers can cause tremendous strain on the family dynamic including emotional, financial, and legal difficulties. The strain of these issues can be portrayed in the youth’s daily life and can greatly affect their social and emotional well-being.

Our agency offers caregivers resource assistance and treatment for immigration-related trauma. We aim to support these families with the necessary actions to better sustain a healthy and safe environment for the well-being of the youth.

Winner & Associates is a therapeutic intervention support agency committed to providing instructional and restorative emotional growth to families with challenges. We are culturally and linguistically competent, family-driven, and family guided. Winner is one of the only agencies that incorporates technical instruction, preparation, and resource management in intervention. Winner serves individuals, families, and groups with behavioral, developmental, intellectual, emotional, or substance abuse challenges. We employ humanistic approaches to multipurpose interventions that are designed to be cutting-edge, solution-based treatments within therapeutic frameworks. Winner understands that intervention is most successful as a comprehensive process, in a supportive environment geared to habilitate the family and ensures families work with counselors that provide appropriate levels of care that successfully manage pressing needs, implement stabilization, and reintegrate domestic balance.

Winner supplies families with tangible resources, both psychoeducational and sociocultural, by means of educational and employment coaching. Counselors and mentors will sit with the caregiver or youth and physically assist with resource calls to take part of the burden off CMs.

Services are focused on developing realistic plans and family resources appropriate to the individual. Winner’s humanistic approach is to provide solution-based care planning to habituate families and diminish the intensity of undesirable behavior. We integrate personal goals, and community resources pertinent to psychosocial maintenance and support, to sustain effective development when families transition.

We offer in-home/in-community services to youths and families to support them through difficulties that can be encountered in daily life. These services include counseling, behavioral assistance, and biopsychosocial assessments. Families and youths are served in the comfort of their homes to work through struggles that prevent a healthy family dynamic.
