The Newton Theatre’s Stage Production Boot Camp, sponsored by First Energy Foundation, is an immersive course where students receive real world hands-on experience in production and the entertainment industry. They will touch on the theory behind lighting, sound, rigging while learning on the actual gear used during performances. Throughout the course, which consists of 8 classes over 9 weeks, students will not only learn how to properly and safely tune mics, light artists, wrap cable and rig, they will also be invited to two live performances where they can shadow a “show day” for a national act. It is truly a great experience for someone aspiring to work in production and entertainment.
The Boot Camp is aimed at providing High School students hands-on experience in stage production and will be held every Tuesday from September 26th through November 2nd from 4:30pm-6:30pm. Class will not be held on October 31st (Halloween).
