Dr. Matthew D’Urso is a clinical psychologist licensed in New Jersey (license #5048) and New York State (license #019547) specializing in the evaluation and treatment of child and adolescent victims of sexual and physical abuse and neglect. In his current practice, Dr. D’Urso provides comprehensive forensic evaluations in the context of child maltreatment and for a variety of purposes, including assessment of trauma and victimization, and risk of offending behavior. In addition, Dr. D’Urso, who is also a certified school psychologist, conducts psycho-educational and neuropsychological assessments of children and adolescents for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities and attention disorders.
Dr. D’Urso’s clinical practice is complemented by experiential learning in the systems that support maltreated children, centering on civil and criminal litigation and forensically sensitive medical and mental health care. He is trained in the Child First/Finding Words protocol for forensic interviewing of children. Dr. D’Urso is also engaged in advanced training through the Family/Civil and Criminal Forensic Psychology programs at Montclair State University.
