Need Legal Advice?
If you need legal advice but don't know how to find a lawyer, the Morris County Bar Association LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE can help!
How Does the Lawyer Referral Service Work?
Call 973-267-5882 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and give your name, address and a brief description of the problem. All information will be kept confidential. You will be given the name and telephone number of a lawyer in your area who participates in the LRS. You will then call the lawyer for an appointment and let them know you received their name from the LAWYER REFERRAL SERVICE.
Is There a Charge for this Service?
There is no fee for the name of any lawyer. However, the lawyer may charge a maximum of $50 for the first half-hour consultation, after that, the lawyer's regular fees apply. Be sure to bring all pertinent documents and information with you so that the lawyer has all the facts about your case in order to advise you.
Am I Obligated to Call the Lawyer?
No. If you decide not to proceed any further, you are under no obligation.
Reduced Fee Referral Program
The Morris-Sussex Reduced Fee Referral Program is a program available to litigants in Morris and Sussex Counties who do not qualify for pro bono legal services and/or the Public Defender, but who cannot afford to pay an attorney at rates ordinarily charged. Individuals who meet the income requirements for the program will be referred to an attorney who may represent them at a reduced rate. The Reduced Fee Referral Program does not offer free, or pro bono, attorney representation.
The Morris-Sussex Vicinage Reduced Fee Referral Program takes cases in every Division in the Superior Court and on the Municipal Level.
