Psychotherapist. Mental Health Care Provider. Counselor. Social Worker. Clinician. Helper. I can be considered all of those things...but none of those titles matter as much as what I actually do...Help little people with BIG feelings. The world can be scary. Little people may have to do hard things. Talking doesn't always come easy. Play Therapy techniques allow me to connect with your child in the language they spoke first; PLAY.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist. For over 25 years, I have supported both neurotypical and special needs children. I offer expertise in Play Therapy, which is a therapeutic model that incorporates developmental and psychological interventions to help children express themselves and resolve problems through play.
Play therapy is fun and non-threatening; it feels natural for most children. Yet, it is an evidenced based practice that is proven effective. Could your child use a little help talking about hard things or expressing feelings? Have they been through a trauma which has changed their behavior? Let's talk about how therapeutic play can help.
