The C.L.E.A.R. Program offers Sussex County adults and their loved ones the opportunity to access help for an addiction problem by walking into a participating police department and simply asking for help without fear of questioning, arrest or prosecution from law enforcement. Participants are paired with a trained recovery coach that serves as a personal guide and mentor to recovery by connecting them to resources and offering recovery support.

  • Locate a participating police department.
  • Walk in through the main doors of the department nearest you. Please bring a photo ID if possible.
  • Tell the official at the reception window that you want to participate in the C.L.E.A.R. Program.
  • A designated officer will bring you through the screening process which includes filling out some paperwork. If you are in possession of illegal substances and paraphernalia the officer will take them from you and destroy them appropriately.
  • The officer will connect you to a trained Recovery Coach that will assist in developing a plan for recovery.
