Get Out There with Acquired Brain Injury (GOT ABI) is a NJ 501(c)3 org dedicated to empowering young adults (ages 18-30) with an Acquired Brain Injury through socialization, education, advocacy, and awareness.
GOT ABI aims to empower young adults with acquired brain injuries to reclaim their futures, connect with their communities, and thrive through awareness, socialization, and advocacy.
A brain injury during young adulthood is unique because the brain is still forming. It may affect development of emotional regulation, impulse control, social skills, executive function, and decision-making. This can significantly impact a young adult's ability to form and maintain healthy relationships, pursue educational aspirations, or secure a stable career.
