Ginnie's House Children's Advocacy Center of Sussex County

Ginnie's House provides a safe, healing environment in which allegations of child abuse are investigated and follow-up services are delivered. Using a multi-disciplinary team approach, children are interviewed on-site and are provided with follow-up services such as crisis intervention and therapy.

Several agencies partner to evaluate the needs of each family and develop a plan to address those needs. Play therapy is available at Ginnie's House, in addition to the Family Advocate Program that offers support and advocacy to non-offending parents and caregivers.  Sessions for adults can be either one-on-one with the Family Advocate, or in our parents' group,  PATCHES. PATCHES meets on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings; registration and pre-screening are required.

All services at Ginnie's House are FREE, regardless of the financial situation of the family.

Eligibility Child victims of physical or sexual abuse up to the age of 18 can be seen at Ginnie's House. If the abuse occurred in Sussex County, or the child lives or goes to school here, they can be served by Ginnie's House. Parents, foster parents, grandparents, relatives of the child, or other non-offending caregivers can also access Family Advocate services. Some children who have open DCP&P cases may be referred to other partner agencies. No abusers or suspected abusers are allowed into Ginnie's House. All services at Ginnie's House are free.
