In-depth social worker attention to families in which there is danger of child abuse or neglect in cases not serious enough for DYFS. Families may have poor family support, psychiatric disorders, substance abuse issues, limited intellectual abilities, or lack of knowledge. Goal is to prevent child abuse and neglect through intensive and prompt intervention.
