Program provides loans to individuals who are experiencing financial difficulties.  All loans must be repaid within two years.

Types of loans include:

• Car Purchase- Max. loan amount is $3,000
• Car Repair/Car Insurance- Max. loan amount is $1,000
• Child Care- Max. loan amount is $800
• Housing/Rent/Mortgage/Security Deposit- Max. loan amount is $1,000
• Employment Related Expense- Max. loan amount is $500

 

Eligibility

Applicants are required to attend Financial Counseling Workshops. Must also be: A custodial parent or guardian of a child up to 18 years of age Employed at least 20 hours per week and at the same job for at least 6 months Income eligible Able to demonstrate that loan is necessary to maintain employment and that the loan can be repaid within two years A resident of Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex or Warren counties
