Parenting Skills – Family-Centered Caregiver Coaching and Support
Boundless Behavior Therapy
Boundless Behavior Therapy provides a clinical Parenting Skills service designed to help parents and caregivers better understand their child’s behavioral, emotional, developmental, and mental health needs. We recognize that meaningful progress does not happen in isolation. Children and adolescents are most successful when their caregivers feel informed, supported, empowered, and actively involved in treatment.
What Sets Our Parenting Skills Service Apart
Our Parenting Skills service combines individualized caregiver education, clinical support, practical coaching, and family-systems interventions. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all curriculum, our clinicians work collaboratively with each family to identify its unique strengths, challenges, values, priorities, and treatment goals.
Parents and caregivers are not viewed as observers in the treatment process. They are valued treatment partners who receive the knowledge, tools, and ongoing support needed to carry therapeutic strategies into the home and other natural environments.
Clinical and Family-Systems Approach
Parenting Skills services are rendered by a licensed-level clinician using empirically and clinically supported therapeutic approaches. Services are guided by an individualized treatment plan and documented through required clinical progress notes.
Although many sessions focus primarily on the parent or caregiver, the youth must participate in some sessions to support a family-systems approach. These joint sessions allow the clinician to observe family interactions, model strategies, strengthen communication, and help caregivers apply newly learned skills directly with the youth.
Clinical Parenting Skills services are billable under the applicable JU1 or JU2 service designation and cannot be provided on the same day that an IIC clinician is delivering in-home therapy to the youth.
Services May Include
Caregiver Coaching and Behavioral Support
Parents and caregivers receive individualized coaching on how to reinforce positive behaviors, respond consistently to challenging behaviors, establish effective routines, improve communication, and carry treatment strategies into everyday family life.
Parent Psychoeducation
Clinicians provide clear and practical information about the youth’s diagnosis, behavior patterns, emotional or developmental needs, coping strategies, communication skills, and treatment recommendations. Information is individualized to the family’s needs and presented in an accessible and supportive manner.
Family Therapy and Relationship Support
When clinically appropriate, family therapy is incorporated to improve communication, strengthen relationships, address family stressors, and promote healthier interactions within the home.
Crisis Prevention and Management
Families receive support identifying triggers, recognizing early warning signs, developing prevention strategies, creating safety plans, and responding calmly and consistently during escalating situations.
Advocacy
We help caregivers understand their child’s needs and communicate effectively with schools, service providers, care management organizations, and other community-based systems. Our goal is to ensure that families feel informed, heard, and supported when making decisions about their child’s care.
Information and Referrals
Families may be connected with additional resources that support the youth or household, including educational services, mental health providers, social services, recreational programs, medical specialists, parent resources, and other community-based supports.
Our Commitment to Families
At Boundless Behavior Therapy, services are compassionate, collaborative, and individualized. Interventions are adjusted as the family’s needs change, and caregivers are encouraged to take an active role throughout the treatment process.
Our goal is to help families develop greater confidence, improve relationships, respond more effectively to challenges, and create meaningful, lasting progress for their child.
