Strengthening Families Program is a 14-week family education program. Parents and their children learn to creat strong family bonds while having fun together. The program includes the WHOLE family...parents, children 6 years and older and teens 13 to 17 years old. Free child care is provided for children under 6.
Goals of the Strengthening Families Program:
Families will learn to:
- Communicate more clearly, honestly and openly with one another
- Develop listening skills to enhance family communication
- Identify, express and accept each other's feelings
- Understand the phases of normal child/adolescent growth and development
- Understand the effects of alcohol/drug abuse on family members
- Enhance decision making and problem solving skills
- Develop effective conflict resolution and disciplinary skills
- Develop a sense of family responsibility, interdependence and cooperation
- Have fun together!
